Our Services

Friends of the Unborn provides comprehensive, compassionate support to mothers and their babies, completely free of charge.

Whole-Person Care for Mothers & Babies

Since 1984, Friends of the Unborn has offered far more than just a roof over a mother's head. We walk alongside each resident through pregnancy, and the early months of motherhood, equipping her with the skills, confidence, and community she needs to build a bright future for herself and her child.

Safe, Free Housing

We provide a private, comfortable room in our Quincy, MA maternity home at no cost to the resident. Mothers have the opportunity to stay through their pregnancy and up to their baby's first birthday.

Prenatal & Postpartum Support

Our staff and volunteers provide emotional support and practical guidance throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period, helping mothers navigate medical appointments, birth plans, and newborn care.

  • Newborn care guidance and breastfeeding support
  • Emotional support and mentorship
  • Connection to community health resources

Life Skills Education

Our on-site life skills program prepares residents for independent living. Classes are taught by trained volunteers and cover a wide range of practical topics.

  • Budgeting and financial literacy
  • Cooking, nutrition, and meal planning
  • Parenting and child development
  • Health and wellness
  • Relationship skills and communication

Education & Employment

We encourage and support residents in pursuing their educational and career goals. Staff help connect mothers with HiSet/GED programs, college resources, and English as a second language (ESL)

  • GED and high school equivalency support
  • College enrollment guidance
  • Housing  search assistance referrals.
  • Referrals to workforce development programs

Counseling & Spiritual Care

The over all well-being of our clients is critical and  and may recieve referrals for professional counseling and spiritual support.

  • Individual counseling referrals
  • On-site chapel for prayer and reflection
  • Prayer garden and quiet outdoor space
  • Connection to local faith communities

Material Assistance

Through generous donations from our community, we provide our residents with essential items for themselves and their babies, at no cost.

  • Diapers, formula, and baby supplies
  • Maternity and baby clothing
  • Household necessities and toiletries
  • Baby furniture and equipment

OFFERING On-Site Life Skills and Enrichment

Our on-site life skills and enrichment classes along with our monthly Mass are integral parts of our Program.

Tummy Time for Baby

All residents of our Program are required to attend.
